Reverend Don Smith is the President and Founder of Vital Connections. He has been a successful church leader and pastor for over twenty years. “While I have experienced a call from God into ministry, my deeper passion is bringing a community of people together to work toward a common vision so that their God-given purpose can be fulfilled.” In just over eight years as founding pastor of StonebridgeChurch in McKinney , Texas , Reverend Smith guided this brand new church from zero to over 2,200 constituents and four |
weekend services attended by over 1,100 people. He has also served churches in rural and county seat communities guiding them through successful seasons of revitalization. During his local church ministry, Don led congregations in three property acquisitions and four capital improvement projects, the largest being $3.1 million. |
In 2004, Reverend Smith felt led by God to “multiply his ministry” through being a resource to judicatory leaders and a ministry coach to church planters. Since then, Don has consulted in over 40 congregations in three denominations and provided coaching services for more than 25 founding pastors in eight states.

E. Smith, M.Ed.
Amy
E. Smith, Ministry Assessment Strategist and Don’s
wife of over twenty years, knows the joys and struggles
of church planting through the perspective of a founding
pastor’s spouse. A consultant to numerous school
districts, Amy is certified to administer the Hermann
Brain Dominance Instrument (HBDI – please see
www.hbdi.com), a remarkable tool for analyzing |

the ways that people prefer to think, learn, communicate
and make decisions. Amy works with organizations in
helping them place the right personnel in an environment
best suited to their natural inclinations. In working
with denominational leaders, Amy will help them assess
the gifts of prospective church planters. In working
with church staffs, she will help them make informed
decisions in the hiring of new staff. |
